Despite the overcast skies and high winds it turned out to be a good morning for atlasing. I was cleaning up three blocks in the northern part of the county that extend into Pennsylvania. Today's highlights were a Blue-winged Warbler seen singing only a Golden-winged Warbler song, one Red-headed Woodpecker, a Pileated Woodpecker nest with young, and Worm-eating, Kentucky, and Hooded Warblers seen or heard singing. The only migrants were Blackpoll Warblers heard in several places and one Spotted Sandpiper.
