Hi Everyone,

My girlfriend Becky and I did a short walk at Centennial Lake yesterday evening (5/22), the highlight of which was at least eight COMMON NIGHTHAWKs. They were flying high over the lake at around 8:00 p.m., and were quite vocal. The edge of the lake was being hunted by at least 10 GREEN HERONs, and the afternoon chorus was loaded with the songs of YELLOW WARBLERs, INDIGO BUNTINGs, COMMON YELLOWTHROATs, and GRAY CATBIRDs. It was a great cool evening to be out, the best of spring and fall in one afternoon. This has definitely been the nicest spring since I've lived in the state!

Good birding,

Bill
