Hello all.

While talking with Warren and Lisa Stroebel on Sunday afternoon, an adult 
Common Loon flew low overhead at Ft. Smallwood. We had great views of the 
head, neck, legs and belly. A nice surprise.

Also:

Today, while on patrol, I found a dead adult Black-crowned Night Heron on 
Fort Smallwood's northmost beach. Inspection of the body revealed that he 
had probably died quite recently. There have been 2-3 individual adults 
hanging around the Fort, presumably from the Carroll Island rookery.
