Hi last eveing a walk around my yard provided views of several bird
species eating from the Mulberries on the property next door. birds
seen eating were
Tufted Titmouse first time for me seeing them eat the fruit
Brown Thrasher
Grackle
Gray Squirrel
Birds Nearby
Hairy woodpecker
Eastern Bluebirds tending to a nearby nest in and old Purple Martin house
A couple of weeks ago I saw an Indigo Bunting eating fruit from a
Mulberry tree. Also a first for me .
During my walk I came across a Brown Thrasher in the mowed grass pecking
at something it would pound away at it with its beak pick it up put it
back down peck away again after the second time I could tell that it was
a small snake the the thrasher had designs on for dinner . Never did see
it eat it but it flew off around the corner of a group of small saplings
out of sight . A couple of weeks ago the eggs in aThrashers nest in a
Red Cedar in the yard was robbed of its eggs nest itself unharmed. A
Black Snake was seen in the area around that time but not by me.

The Thrasher could hav been carrying out its revenge on snakes .
