Watched the Black-bellied Whistling-Duck last night
from about 7:30 - 8:00pm. Wherever people were
feeding the waterfowl is where the duck would be. It
would fly across the pond to the feeding area, when
you could see it's well-patterned, outstretched wings.
What a handsome species. That day-glo pinkish orange
bill is striking. Once or twice it stood rather
upright at the edge of the pond, where you could
especially note the bird's slim body.
