I just received a call from Mark Hoffman who is in Worcester County looking at a Southern Lapwing. The location is not accessible by road and can only be seen from a boat. The location is on the south side of Turville Creek west of the mouth of Herring Creek. If anyone is interested and can get to the Gum Point Boat Ramp this afternoon he can get you there. Call him at 443-235-4959. This is not his regular number and is good only for today. This is a South American species. All previous reports of this species in Florida, including this year, are believed to be escapes. Use your own judgment.
