Above the white wash, I saw two immature yellow-crowned night-herons
this a.m., thanks to Paul O'Brien's recent post reporting on another
of Bob Augustine's uncanny heron sleuthing tip-offs. There certainly
is one nest there with one young on it. The other youngster was
perched about four feet away in the tree crown. In the same crown but
about 8-10 feet away, there was another clump of twigs that didn't
resemble the nest, but could have been an old nest, another nest, or
perhaps a strange squirrel construction.
