Here's a note posted on MDOsprey way back in 1999. Hope it helps!

Best bet- a Cecil Co. ADC street map- Bethel well illustrated in
this.
South on 213 - exit first right over Ches. City bridge.
Go into South Chesapeake City on George St.
Turn right on 2nd St ( 286 ). You will go by a mooring basin and a
restaurant
on your left. Bear right ( left will take you to the canal museum.
)
You will see the dike on your left. Proceed to Bethel Cemetery/Old
Telegraph
Rd. ( 1 - 2 miles ) . Left onto Bethel Cemetery, immediate left
into VERY
non-descript parking area. As you pull in, the dike will be right
in front of
you.
Proceed along the dike to view the impoundment. There is also a
trail through
the woods that can be interesting.
Enjoy,
Leslie Fisher
Cecil Co.
