If you can find a copy of the June issure of 'Birds & Blooms', the cover
story is '30 Flowers to Attract Hummingbirds'!
We have some salvia and fuschia plants in our gardens and the humingbirds
seem to come by on a regular basis. We also have some feeders up. They spend
more time on the feeders than the flowers, but they do visit the salvia
plants regularly.
We get very few butterflies but the ones that come in, seem to land on the
coneflowers the most.

I live in the Conowingo area of Md. and am re-hauling my garden. The area
I want to plant is mostly part-sun, with some shady areas. I am
interested in planting for butterflies and hummingbirds, and need some
suggestions. Please help! Also, I am having a difficult time trying to
find native plants, and plants in general to attract these jewels of
nature. Anyone know of any nurseries, particularly in my area, that
specializes in these types of plants, please let me know. Thanks |
