All,

I managed to see several Henslows Sparrows and to hear several additional
individuals along Pea Ridge road in Garrett County on 6/26 and 6/29/06.
Someone mentioned the ability of these birds to sound much closer than they
actually are and that was extremely helpful. For when I finally located a
bird it was considerably further back in the field then my ears would
believe. I also managed to see and even photograph a Grasshopper Sparrow.
Bobolinks, Black-billed Cuckoo, and Savanah Sparrows were also found at this
location. The local farmers were very friendly toward birders and traffic
was minimal. Much thanks to all the birders that sent me info on Henslows!
Sorry for the late post but I just returned from a week in Maine where the
birding was also spectacular.

All the best!

W
