The concerned chemist seems to have a valid point.

The antibiotics are available by physician prescription solely, I
understand. Best direction seems to be in earlier diagnosis, either
through better awareness in the medical community and/or by
victim "militancy".

When I was in the pharmaceutical industry many informative seminars
were presented and detail men/women dispatched to heighten doctor
awareness of new products. We need incentives to bring such a focus
on Lyme, don't you think?

Won't help those suffering the most now -- poor souls -- but could
reduce it's incidence and persistence.

As to the chemist's concerns, half of us need to get the physician to
prescribe the medicine properly, and the other half need to work on
the patient to take the regimen properly.

Germs will just have to take the crumbs.
