For those of you who bird Delaware, the southern coast has started to get
an influx of shorebirds. Fowler Beach impoundments had at least 14 Stilt
Sandpipers, Dowititchers, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs and an assortment
of peeps. A little further up the road, the beach itself had 2 Wilson's
Storm Petrels, and an unidentifiable bird at a distance, which possibly
could have been a shearwater. I've been having a difficult time finding
Black Terns-they have been spotted at Bombay Hook, but have eluded us.
Bombay Hook had the usual shorebirds with Dowitchers and peeps; a Ruff has
been spotted there (no luck finding it!) Good Birding! Fall is on it's
way!!!!
