Hello all. I took the family down to Ocean City this am. In-between all of the fun in the sun, I did a lot of observing the Shore Bird migration that seems to be in full force.
We were there from about 10 am to 4:30 pm. 95% of all of the birds I saw today headed in one direction. South.
This was the most Whimbrel's I have ever seen in my life at once. The flocks went from having a single bird to 42 birds in one group.
Here are my birds of interest observations.
Gannets-4
Brown Pelican 80+ a few may have been repeats.
Wilson's Storm Petrel - 5
Royal Tern- 30
Caspian Tern- 6
