This weekend I made what was probably my last visit to the Bittinger SW
atlas block in Garrett County. Highlights included adding Barred Owl and
confirming Black-throated Blue Warbler (FY). Whip-poor-wills continued
to sing on Saturday evening near Tom's Ridge Hunt Club on Ft. Hill Rd.

I also checked a few places for shorebirds. Piney Run Reservoir and the
Yough were full to the brim. Savage River Reservoir near the Big Run
campground had some exposed shoreline and a few birds on Saturday:

20 Killdeer
 6 Spotted Sandpipers
 3 Solitary Sandpipers
 1 Lesser Yellowlegs.

On Sunday, I left the county via Russell Rd and found a pair of Blue
Grosbeaks, a county close-out for me. A number of American Kestrels were
also present -- at least 4 and maybe as many as 7 (I lost track of the
first group of birds as I drove down the road). Other birds on Russell Rd
included a flyover Black Vulture, a Common Raven, and a Wild Turkey.
