A Great-horned Owl was making good use of the full moon just after sunset last night. It perched on the nature Center flag pole and later on the old tower communications building.

The ranks of Black-crowned Night Herons is currently five at the navy marina (about 300 yards from the Nature Center). Two adults, two one year birds, and one immature.
