Hello all.

While returning from the OC Inlet, I stopped by Unicorn Books in Trappe
(off of Route 50). It had a good selection of bird and bird-related books
and I bought several of them, spending far more than I'd budgeted.

It wasn't until I arrived home and was going through the books that I
discovered that the copies of A. C. Bent's "Life Histories of Marsh Birds"
(1926) and "Life Histories of Gallinaceous Birds" (1932) had the name "F.
M. Uhler" penned on their covers.

Looking through the Marsh birds book, I found a note possibly written by
Fran Uhler...in fact it was a pithy statement about the author's assessment
that the Sora's breeding range includes Florida:

"Bunk! I doubt that Sora rail breed that far south!" It is signed "F.M.U."

I think I'll go with Uhler on that one.

I also piched up a Nov-Dec 1919 copy of Audubon's "Bird Lore" among others.
