Kevin:

Helen Patton, Joy Bowen and I were at the nursery on several
occasions yesterday, Saturday 8/19, but did not sight the Collared
Dove at all. We checked at just after 8 a.m., again just after 9
a.m. (when the nursery opens) and yet again just around noon. The
staff at the nursery told us that the bird had been seen on Friday,
but that it is generally around only in the "early morning" and "late
afternoon." One staff person said she recognized its call. Its
favorite perch is, we were told, in the partially dead tree next to
the main road, adjacent to the fence separating the nursery from the
furniture place next door.

We didn't come away empty handed, though. We purchased some very
attractive ceramic pots. It's a very nice nursery, and the people
there seem very friendly to birders.
