I spent over an hour checking the partially dead tree on the north edge of
Stadler's lot, other locations in and around Stadler's, and the chimney up the
road to no avail. Then, a few minutes before 5PM I heard the ECDO calling
behind the nursery. I found it in the deciduous trees at the northwest corner
of the property. As it was then 5PM, I had to leave the premises since they
were locking up, but I stayed outside the gate until 5:30 hoping that the bird
would come out to give me a sunny look in its favorite tree. It didn't.
But it is still around. I would suggest learning the call before looking for
it. You could save a lot of time.
