My apologies for posting an off-topic email but my conscience urges me to
let as many of you know as possible the Senate is reviewing yet another bill
to drill for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The vote is
scheduled for sometime immediately after Labor Day. The Natural Resources
Defense Fund (NRDC) has a short video if you're interested at
http://www.nrdcactionfund.org/tellafriend.asp.

The fact is even our President's energy advisors say that all the expected
oil in ANWR will only affect the price of gas we pay at the pump by less
than a penny per gallon. This effort is plainly about jobs in Alaska and
profits for oil companies. Enough of my soapbox.

The House has already voted to approve the "American-Made Energy and Good
Jobs Act" (H.R. 5429) which authorizes drilling. PLEASE contact our Senators
(http://mikulski.senate.gov/mailform.html for Senator Mikulski and
http://sarbanes.senate.gov/pages/email.html for Senator Sarbanes) and
encourage them to continue their fight to prevent drilling in ANWR. They're
doing a great job but they still need to hear from you.

Thanks,
Dean Newman
