Argentina is a large country - where are you going to be?

In January, 1991 we spent about two weeks touring southern Chile and
Argentina by rental car (actually a truck - the "highway" from Puerto
Montt had opened just a week or two earlier and was not suited for
regular cars). We spent nearly a week in western Chubut province -
and the birding was magnificent! We saw flocks of tinamous, rheas
and flamingoes, as well as many forest birds in Los Alerces National
Park, and open land song birds. We used Dunning's "South American
Birds" (we were spending 6 months traveling the western part of the
continent - Patagonia was only a small part of our adventure) but I'm
sure you can find guides more specific to where you will be birding.
Just thinking about going there is making my mouth water!
Have a great time!
