Went out this morning to look for "storm" birds, but found nothing unusual
here. Still enjoyed it (so far!). I was out at the river from ~ 7:30 to
8:45, and then spent the rest of the time at home, sporadically looking
outside every so often and wishing I was still out. I'm on Dad duty today
and may take the kids out later, but for now its porch and window watching.

Observations: Some kind of insect hatch was on, because a large mixed
flock of swallows fed on them for about 15 minutes while I watched. I
couldn't find anything unusual in them, although I later found a Purple
Martin by hunting over the river by itself.

I heard Soras (several) for the first time this season, and saw 3 black
terns which are also new for the season.

I had a Solitary Sandpiper from the yard at a puddle out in the field, but
it had no company.

I saw no warblers - not one!

I saw an E-t Blue, 5 Monarchs, and many (~15 Tiger Swallowtails) at our b-
fly bushes.
