This morning I joined Jan Reese for awhile at the parking lot of Black
Walnut Point on Tilghman Island. By the time I got there he had seen two
Sooty Terns quite close to the shore. Two hours later (when I left) his
count was up to 12 of them, along with one Parasitic Jaeger and a dozen or
so Black Terns. Prior to reaching him, I had stopped at Lowe's Wharf for
awhile, where the highlight was also a Parasitic Jaeger. Royal Terns and
numerous Forster's Terns were present amongst the usual supply of
Cormorants, Osprey and Gulls.
