Hello Everyone,
Just an addendum to my Ernesto storm summary that Ed Boyd forwarded from my
VA-Birds post, I am aware of several reports I had missed for VA, which are
being added. There were sightings from yesterday as well. One thing I am
somewhat surprised at is the lack of wind-blown passerines being found, such
as boat-tailed gracke or painted bunting. Perhaps these are not as
vulnerable to being displaced, or perhaps they are just less easily
observed.
I would welcome any additions for MD or any other area that anyone can
provide. I am hoping to create a rough map of where each species was
observed and compare it to the storm track & relation to the center to
perhaps better understand future storms, so I need as much data as possible.
One other thing: on the archives some of the hyphens following the species
name were converted to question marks, which is not part of the original
post. I don't want anyone to thing there was a question regarding these
sightings.
Thanks Much,
Jay Keller,
