Phil - Jim Stasz said I could count them, so I chased the PG bird. Shouldn't
that be good enough? Do we really need to get bogged down in a lot of
details?? :)

And now for the outlook of the non-listing curmudgeon. Has anybody noticed
that the bird is just as pretty whether it's on anybody's list or not?
Here's to birding for aesthetics and maybe a little science.
I decided several centuries ago that listing might take the joy out of
it for me. The wife keeps a life list (no county, state or country lists)
and I use that motivation to get her out more. Otherwise we're perfectly
happy just going for the sake of seeing some nice birds. Glad we don't have
to make 'tough' decisions like this.
Mark found her life Lincoln's Sparrow to be questionable because it was
being held by a bander in Colorado when we first saw it. Other than that her
list is 'clean'. And she has seen a few less detained Lincolns since so it
doesn't matter any more.
I think we all ought to get back to the basics of enjoying birds for
their own sake.
Off my pedestal and out to bird,
