Hi all --
Still slow at Rock Creek, not good migration weather and it is not a site where birds tend to linger for days -- however perserverance and patience did dig up a few nice birds. The Maintenance Yard (usually best site on days when migration is slow) had one nice little flock come through.
Warblers: Black-and-White (2), Blackburnian (1, excellent looks), Blackpoll (1), Black-throated Blue (2), Canada (1), Chestnut-sided (8), Magnolia (1), Ovenbird (2), Redstart (5), Yellowthroat (5). Another birder had a Tennessee.
Other migrants: Wood-pewee (3), Catbird (10), Red-eyed Vireo (12), Scarlet Tanager (2), Baltimore Oriole (1), Rose-breasted Grosbeak (2), Wood Thrush (1), Veery (2), Catharus sp. (1), House Wren (5), Bobolink (overhead, ~10), Ruby-throated Hummingbird (2)
The promised cold front with resulting NW winds should improve things, we hope!
