This morning I had a scheduled car repair at 7 am, but when I arrived I
was told the mechanic wouldn't be in until 8; I was hopping mad! I bailed
out and went to the neary Patuxent River Park at Queen Anne Rd, to relax
and have a quick look for birds.

From 7:20-7:45 AM, I found two small but nice groups of birds, each with a
mix of species, and both groups were busy and moving fairly rapidly. I
got the impression they had just arrived and were starving! I missed
quite a few birds (some I didn't get any view of; some I got on with the
bins but they were too fast for me to get an id,; and some I simply
couldn't tell due to the awful lighting (a light rain had just stopped
with 100% overcast, dull light).

In order of appearance, I saw a yellow throated vireo (singing), chestnut-
sided warbler (2; both chipping the whole time), black & white warbler
(1); Am redstart (2; one exceptionally colorful adult male); nashville
warbler (1; shy, gave brief view); magnolia warbler (2; seen separately,
one was incredibly curious and got very close, hopping around on a branch
watching me from about 10 feet away).

But then I had to leave for work - it seemed like it would have been a
great day to be out. And my attitude was 180 degrees better!
