p.s. Would Montgomery county birders please share some of their warblers
with Howard?
Agreed, if you'll share some of your sparrows with us (hmmm, Harris's
Sparrow leaps to mind. Eventually I hope one will show at Blue Mash...).
All,
And I think both of you should send these birds to Carroll. Just got
back in from Morgan Run, where things were a bit sparse. Only warblers were
a couple of Yellowthroats fighting with each other. Sparrows were all the
common folks - nobody named Harris or LeConte or even Tree.
I did have a gorgeous young harrier glide past. Anybody that doesn't
stop and just stare at them when they do that is legally dead.
Down at the pond near the creek I had a Green Heron pop up into a tree
nearby and sit the glaring at me. He was one of those streaky-chested young
'uns we see so many of this time of year. I knew what he was thinking as he
glared. His eyes said it clearly, "Whatcha gonna do, Bub? List me?"
I glared back defiantly and said, "Hell yeah." Nothing I dislike more
than a smartass young heron. I was gonna do it right there and make him
watch me but a quick check of my person turned up nothing to write on or
with.
Maybe that's why I don't list. Never carry anything to do it with.
