Hi All,

Nancy and I took a two hour bird walk this morning around the
neighborhood here at Chesapeake Landing (near the mouth of Worton
Creek). Based on the birds we found in our yard upon our return, we
might have stayed here, but, actually, we would have missed one good
bird and some others.

We had a fair number of migrants. Most were in a mixed flock in our yard
around noon. The best finds were a young male CAPE MAY WARBLER (not in
the yard), and a brightly marked PHILADELPHIA VIREO. Other warblers
included BAY-BREASTED, Blackpoll, Magnolia, BLACKBURNIAN, TENNESSEE,
Black-and-white, redstart, and Ovenbird. Also worthy of note was a
cloudless sulphur (a rare butterfly for our yard), and the exquisite and
abundant mare's-tail cirrus clouds decorating the sky.

Good Birding,
