MDOspreyers,

If you can, please attend one of the following public meetings regarding the
future closure plans for the North Cell of Hart-Miller Island. This is your
opportunity to provide input as to how you think the North Cell should be
ultimately designed for wildlife habitat. A strong birder presence at the
meetings will show that we care about the future of this Chesapeake Bay
birding resource.

The purpose of the meetings is to provide information to the public on the
HMI North Cell closure concepts and to collect oral and/or written comments.
The meetings will be held on two dates, October 4th and 5th, and in two
locations. A poster session will begin 1/2 hour before both meetings with
staff available to answer questions. Both meetings will provide an
opportunity for the public to submit oral and/or written comments.

The first meeting will be held on:
Wednesday, October 4, 2006
6:30 PM poster session, 7:00 PM presentation
Chesapeake High School, Auditorium
1801 Turkey Point Road
Baltimore, Maryland
(I will present a brief avian overview of the island.)

The second meeting will be held on:
Thursday, October 5, 2006
6:30 PM poster session, 7:00 PM presentation
Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC)
Dundalk Campus, K Building (Theatre)
7200 Sollers Point Road
Baltimore, Maryland 21222
(An alternate will present my brief avian overview of the island.)

If you cannot attend either meeting and wish to comment or have any
questions, you may contact Mr. Nathaniel Brown at the Maryland Port
Administration, 2310 Broening Highway, Baltimore, Maryland 21224-6621 at
(410) 631-1102, or at the following e-mail address:

I hope to see you at one the meetings. Thanks for your support of this
environmental restoration effort.
