Hi Everyone,

I did a short hike at Middle Patuxent Environmental Area in Howard Co. before the rain this afternoon (9/28). It was surprisingly birdy considering the gloomy weather and strong winds. Here are some highlights:

Red-shouldered Hawk--1
Barred Owl--1
YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER--1; my first of the season
Red-eyed Vireo--3
House Wren--1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet--3
Swainson's Thrush--1
Wood Thrush--1
American Robin--100+
Gray Catbird--5
Black-and-white Warbler--4
Magnolia Warbler--3
American Redstart--5
Common Yellowthroat--5
Eastern Towhee--10
Rose-breasted Grosbeak--1
RUSTY BLACKBIRD--1; my first of the season

Good birding,

Bill
