I can add to the PEREGRINE FALCON sightings lately with a hatch-year bird,
presumably female, playing with a mob of crows right over the roof top of
my apartment building yesterday afternoon Sept28. It appeared slightly
larger than the crows, but I do not have sufficient knowledge of the size
of the Eastern US sub-species relative to crow, opposed to the European
nominate sub-species, to say whether that qualifies for a female or not.
It did however give that bulky, powerful appearance of a female Peregrine.
Two days ago (Sept27), we also had two WILSON'S WARBLERS foraging low in
the backyard scrubs, offering excellent views and adding to our yardlist
as warbler species #20!
