Encouraged by a good showing this morning, I decided to see if anything
good was around in the National Mall area today.
Best bird was a YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT in a small tree along the ridge just
southwest of the Constitution Gardens pond--not exactly prime chat
habitat! Others of note in that area:
Ovenbird
Black & White Warbler
American Coot
Over at the D.C. WWI Memorial, I found the following birds of note:
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Swainson's Thrush (probably at least 2)
Magnolia Warbler
White-throated Sparrows were in both areas.
Jason Waanders
NW DC
