Hi All,
Nancy and I were at Great Oak Pd. from 9:40 to 10:40 AM this morning.
There were about 2000 Canada Geese at the pond accompanied by 2
GREENLAND WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, 5 CACKLING GEESE, 9 Snow Geese (1 Blue),
and the Egyptian Goose. We could not find the Barnacle Goose, but,
because the rest of the diversity is still around, there is no reason to
presume that bird is not still somewhere in the area. Past experience
has shown the Barnacle Goose to be elusive.
Other birds present were the Canvasback, the Redhead, 7 Ruddy Ducks, a
Northern Shoveler, 220 Green-winged Teal, and 21 Northern Pintail.
Good birding (there appears to be a lot of good birding around MD today),
