Hi all,
   
    Must apologize for the tardy post, but hope all is relevant;
  Made a late afternoon prowl of Blue Mash Nature Trail in Olney 4:30pm-6:40pm
  Entered on the Fieldcrest/landfill enterance.  It was mostly quiet.  Saw 20+ deer!  Species sighted:
   
  1 Marsh Hawk (hunting over big pond?)
  Ruby crowned kinglets (many)
  2 Field Sparrows
  5 White thrt Sparrows
  3 Song Sparrows
  1 Turkey Vulture
  3 No. Flickers
  5-10 Blue Jays
  Cardinals
  Robins (many)
  Grackles & Starlings (mixed flocks)
  Mammals:
  1 Ground Hog
  Eastern Chipmunks
   
  Rock Creek Park, Beach Drive/355
  Saturday, October 7th  2-4:30pm Rain/cloudy
  58 degrees
   
  2 Chesnut sided Warblers (fall imm)
  2-3 Black thrted Green Warblers (fall imm males)
  2-3 Black thrted Blue Warblers (2 were female)
  1 Magnolia Warbler
  1 Ovenbird
  4 Common Yellowthroats
  1 Chimney Swift
  2 Broadwinged Hawks (soaring)
  1 MERLIN (hunting tree line along Beach Drive)
  8+ Ruby crowned Kinglets
  3-4 Yellow rumped Warblers
  1 Wood thrush
  1 Gray cheeked Thrush
  3 Carolina Wrens
  1 Winter Wren
  1 Belted Kingfisher
  2 White throated Sparrows
  American Goldfinches (several)
  1 No. Flicker
  1 Yellow bellied Sapsucker
  1 White breasted Nuthatch
