I offered good views to a Raven at the McKeldin area of Patapsco Valley State
Park Monday morning. I first heard the bird call from beyond a stand of trees.
Soon it soared over the treetops, flew in a circle around the field where I was
standing, only about a hundred feet above me, calling all the while with its
head turned toward me, and then returned back over the trees. As the raven
flew out of sight I heard its call as well as the calls of crows coming from the
same direction. I really got the feeling that it flew over just to check me out. |
