A visit today to the trails of CBEC, with a dozen members of my
Beginning Birders Class of Chesapeake College Adult Education Program, led
to seeing and/or hearing 34 species. This was a 'first ever' birding outing
for most of the participants.
Highlights:
Great Egret
Snowy Egret
Gadwall (7)
Osprey
Bald Eagle
Northern Harrier - Immature bird in great lighting - hence our bird of the
day
Greater Yellowlegs
Lesser Yellowlegs
Belted Kingfisher
Eastern Phoebe
Tree Swallow
Brown Creeper
Golden-crowned Kinglet
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Palm Warbler
Myrtle Warbler - numerous (of course)
