I took a tour of the upper bay today, chasing birds reported recently by Matt
Hafner, Chris Starling, and Walter Ellison, plus finally getting around to seeing
the Great White Heron. Luckily, the heron wasn't deterred by the cold
weather. In fact, I saw it defend its territory against a regular Great Blue
Heron, so maybe it's planning to stick around for a while longer.
