Two Common Ravens were spotted in Howard County over the weekend -
one at Western Regional Park and one at Centennial Park. Both were
flying but gave the observers decent looks, and in both cases the
ravens called, clinching the I.D.
I have a decent amount of experience with ravens from spending time
in northern Minnesota, and I've always thought of ravens as
requiring more territory and being less amenable to suburbs than
crows. But ravens are very clever and are opportunistic feeders, so
maybe some of them are rethinking their habitat preferences?
