The Sunday Morning visit to Harleigh by the Talbot Bird Club brought out
thirteen birders. Led by Terry Allen, the group visited only a small
portion of the Harleigh estate but came away with a total of 71 species.
Sparrows were the highlight - a brush pile close to the starting point of
the walk held White-crowned, White-throated, Song and Swamp. One birder had
a glimpse of a possible Lincoln's but the bird was not seen again. Farther
out in the fields there were Savannah and Chipping Sparrows. Elsewhere
Juncoes and a Towhee were found.
    Other highlights:
        Wilson's Snipe (2 flew overhead)
        Northern Shoveler
        Green-winged Teal
        Black Duck
        Osprey
        Cooper's Hawk
Northern Harrier (chased the Cooper's twice)
        Great Egret
        Snowy Egret
        American Coot
Ring-necked Pheasant (escapees from local hunting)
        Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs
        Eastern Phoebe (several)
        Tree Swallow
        Both Kinglets
        Myrtle Warbler (many)
        Palm Warbler (4 or 5)
        Common Yellowthroat
and Bobolink (heard as a fly-over).

After the birding the group enjoyed a delicious brunch at the home of
Nancy and Bernie Burns.
