Hello All,
Definitely a big changeover of birds from last week as this week's list has a very wintry feel to it. Gone were all of the summer lingerers except for a couple of Yellowthroats. Other warblers were an eastern Palm, 1 Pine and 3 Yellow-Rumps. I was hoping for a Nashville. Oh well. It has been a good year for warblers here as I have recorded 25 species (a local best). The day was dominated by sparrows with 35 White-throat, 25 Song, 15 Swamp, 11 Chippers, 5 Savannah, 3 Vesper (1 DE / 2 MD), 2 Field, and the first Junco. Also the first Winter Wren of the season, Sapsucker, 2 Phoebe, 10 RC Kinglet, GH Owl heard at 4 AM. Scanning the skies yielded very little save 2 Bald Eagles.
Good Birding,
