A late report from Saturday's Sparrow Big Day.
We visited 5 different areas and found hundreds and hundreds of sparrows.
A 11 sparrow day for our total.
All the expected species without any rarities but a fine day.
The GRASSHOPPER was a very nice  find. Half a dozen VESPERS , 4 LINCOLN'S.
Other non-sparrow highlights were SORA, MARSH WREN (3), BOBOLINK and 2 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS.
Only went 9.5 hours (non-stop of course) and if we had added another 30 minutes we could have picked up 2 shovelers on a far pond!
Next year I'll make sure we go for the full 10!
