I followed Joel Martin's directions and found the SNOW BUNTING at the
Southwest Area Park (SWAP) near the Baltimore Highlands Light Rail Station.
I should probably say it found me. I was on the path approaching the rock Joel
described as "flat-topped, table-like boulder about 100 feet to the left of the
port-a-pot." It appeared at the base of the rock, then flew up and perched. I
don't know how long I stood there looking at the bird, it seemed like maybe 5
minutes. Finally, the bird hopped down in front of the rock in the gravel. I took
my attention away for a moment and it was gone.
SWAP is a neat park with nice trails and excellent habitat for birding.
Thanks, Joel, it was a life bird for me!
