Hi all,

Matt asked me to report this birds. I dropped off my
dad at a SHA (State Highway Adminstration) meeting in
Cumberland yesterday and manage to find some waterfowl
to bring up my year list.

At the Little Meadows Lake & Campground (often
called Meadows Lake by birders) was a drake American
Wigeon (not rare here, but a nice find for Garrett)
mixed in with other ducks. Afterward, went up to Piney
Reservoir, the best bird was a flyover Evening
Grosbeak across from the dam of the reservoir while on
the walkway. It flew down the valley after left the
woods ahead of you. If you walk toward the concrete
building on a walkway and you look to your left is a
valley down there. He/she flew down and landed
somewhere farther down that spot.
Leaving the reservoir on I-68 was a Golden Eagle
headed SE just a few miles from Allegany line.
Allegany County was slow, but a nice mixed flocks of
ducks at Canal Terminus in Cumberland and our local
common backyard birds at Paw Paw Tunnel.
