Actually Andy, this is not correct in reference to McKee-Beshers WMA.  

COMAR (the Code of Maryland Regulations) states:

08.03.02.34 

.34 Special Hunting Regulations—McKee-Beshers Wildlife Management Area. 
The hunting of woodchucks is prohibited on the McKee-Beshers Wildlife Management Area from November 1 to April 1 of a calendar year.

Maybe the folks at Hughes Hollow were hunting woodchucks which is 
allowed on public lands on Sundays throughout MD.
