Hello all.

Scott Michaud and I surveyed the Swan Creek Dredge Containment property 
of the Maryland Port Administration in Northern AA County. Lots of morning 
haze burned off to give us some good numbers and a couple of unexpected 
birds for the area.

Totals:

Pied-billed Grebe: 2  in the non-mitigated wetland 
Double-crested Cormorant: 5 in and out of the wetland areas
Great Blue Heron: 8  Yes, 8!
Canada Goose: 60 spread out in the different wet areas
Mallard: 75+  in almost all of the wet areas
GADWALL: 1 male in the mitigated wetland
Green-winged Teal: 11 in the non-mitigated wetland 
Ring-necked Duck: 4 in the non mitigated wetland
Lesser Scaup: 15+ Patapsco River
Bufflehead: 15+ Patapsco River
Turkey Vulture: 2
Red-tailed Hawk: 2 
American Coot: 1  in the non-mitigated wetland
Ring-billed Gull: 90+
Herring Gull: 3
Great black-backed Gull: 3
Belted Kingfisher: 1 female
Red-bellied Woodpecker: 5
Northern Flicker: 2
Downy Woodpecker: 6 
Mourning Dove: 29
Rock Pigeon: 24  two flyover groups
Carolina Wren: 8
Winter Wren: 1  along one of the upland paths
Blue Jay: 11
American Crow: 14
Crow sp.: 8
Carolina Chickadee: 14
Tufted Titmouse: 3
Northern Mockingbird: 5 open areas
American Robin: 2
Hermit Thrush: 3  heard and seen in the same general area
EASTERN PHOEBE: 1  first bird of the morning, calling from small tree by pkg. lot
Eastern Towhee: 3
Song Sparrow: 18
White-throated Sparrow: 54
Swamp Sparrow: 3  in the same locale of the mitigated wetland
Slate-coloured Junco: 16
Northern Cardinal: 16
Red-winged Blackbird: 90+
Common Grackle: 20+
American Goldfinch: 55  actively foraging among wetland and field grasses
