It's interesting to note that Common Raven populations in the east consist
of (mostly) solitary birds, or pairs - except way up north where they
congregate in the winter in numbers.  In the west Common Ravens can gather
in huge numbers, rivaling our eastern flocks of American Crows.  Maybe it's
this dynamic that makes "our" crows more apt to harrass their cousins here.

All corvids will group together in harsh environments to communicate food
sources to others in their flock, such as a fresh moose carcass killed by
wolves in the boreal forests - and Ravens are the most skilled at this.
