I checked out the ponds on Rt. 309 between Rt. 213 and Rt. 404 this
morning. Of note are the following:
10 Meadowlarks in one field
After leaving Rt. 213, the first pond on the left on 309 had the following:
Many, many Canada Geese
25 Ruddy Ducks
2 Gadwall
10 Coots
2 Ring-necked Ducks
1 CATTLE EGRET in the field on the far side of the pond
Note: The farmer who owns the pond is not birder friendly. Just bird from the
road.
