Saturday afternoon, December 2, a bunch of us from the Montgomery
Bird Club broke our return from the MOS Board meeting in Chestertown
by stopping off at the Horsehead Center near the Bay Bridge in Queen
Anne's County.

We found a very nice bunch of waterfowl in the sheltered waters off
the Marsh Trail. Largest representation was by Ruddy Ducks
(1000-plus), but there were plenty of Scaup (both species, mostly
Lesser), Gadwall, American Wigeon, Canvasback, and a few Hooded
Mergansers and Bufflehead. Nicest of all were 3 male Redheads. A
distressingly large group of Mute Swans, numbering 60-70, was also
present. A single Tundra Swan flew over while we were there.

Thanks to Danny Bystrak for suggesting that we make the stop.
