Is it just me, or is this topic just a matter of common sense? (sorry, Norm,
I had to chime in).  I am acutely aware of my surroundings, whether
strolling down K Street or hiking on the AT.  I bird when I hike, but if I'm
out during hunting season I keep my senses sharp.  Maybe it's my military
training, but I say: keep ypur guard up in the woods and you should be fine.

Back to birding now... White throated sparrows & Fox sparrows beckon me away
from the 'puter.
