Hi all --
A trip to the National Arboretum was a lot less birdy than hoped -- habitat
looks great, lots of berries and fruit on the trees, also many many Robins
but otherwise unusually quiet. Even the usually lively Asian Collection was
almost birdless, though the winter Camellias are lovely.
Still, a few highlights: Barred owl (1), Bald Eagle (1), Cooper's Hawk (1),
Red-tail (1), Eastern Phoebe (1), Hermit Thrush (1), Bluebird (8-10) plus a
few of the usual suspects. Also, a single Sulphur butterfly in the Asian
collection.
